Terramesh®

Erosion prevention & turf reinforcement

Terramesh® is a versatile, modular system used for soil reinforcement projects such as mechanically stabilised earth walls and reinforced slope systems. It is widely used in commercial and industrial applications including road works, erosion control and bank stabilisation.

The Terramesh® system has been used throughout Australia and around the world for more than 20 years. It was first used in a stabilisation project on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road in 1988. Despite the 6.5m high structure’s proximity to the pounding surf, the system has maintained its functionality.

Terramesh® consists of a steel mesh placed horizontally on the slope with backfill on top. The Gabion-like facing element is then integrated with the steel mesh reinforcement, mechanically locking the system in place.

Terramesh® can be a more cost effective solution than the mass gravity Gabion wall because of the speed of installation and reduced rock fill requirements.
