Drainage layers at the base of a landfill are a key component of any design. The drainage layer prevents the build up of leachate above the liner thereby extending the life of the liner. Trinet® tri-planar drainage nets replace traditional gravel drainage layers in base liner applications due to their high drainage capacity at high confining pressure.
Trinet® is best suited to steep slope applications where traditional gravel drainage layers are difficult to construct and the high confining pressure exceeds the capabilities of other drainage mediums.
Trinet® is a triple layer drainage net manufactured from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). The well defined central drainage path allows fast and efficient drainage of liquid while the outer strands prevent geotextile intrusion.
Trinet® can be supplied in three configurations (1) net alone, (2) nonwoven geotextile bonded to one side and (3) needle punched geotextile bonded to both sides. Heavier grades of geotextiles can be bonded to Trinet® on request.
Typical Trinet® Applications
Landfill side slopes
Trinet® composite drainage systems are designed specifically for high load applications where access is difficult and high drainage capacity is required. Available in 3.7m wide rolls Trinet® allows fast and efficient installation over large areas.
Heap Leach pads
The aggressive nature of the liquor and high loading associated with heap leach pads are ideally suited to Trinet®. Heavy weight geotextiles can be attached to the underside of the geonet to prevent damage to the plastic base liner.
